This lesson was developed for Bradley University’s Education 371 class which focuses on technology and assessment in middle and high school. Students studying to be teachers in different subject areas worked together to create the WebQuest. This WebQuest is focused on students exploring primary sources from colonial times/Revolutionary War and includes content from science, social studies, art, and English.
The lesson focuses on the colonial time period/Revolutionary War. Students create a newspaper from the time period to demonstrate their understanding of the time period. Creating the newspaper also allows students to practice their informational writing skills. Students explore information on the colonial time period using skills and knowledge from different subject areas. Students also have to practice analyzing and synthesis information from different sources and media. The WebQuest should result in further student understanding of the time period and develop their writing and analytical skills.
